Shot/Reverse Shot: Episode 4 - Television

Fighting valiantly against the flu that has left me sounding like Harvey Fierstein, this episode of Shot/Reverse Shot finds myself and Joe Gastineau discussing the subject of "Television". After starting with some Oscar talk, we move on to discussing Network, arguably the definitive film about television, the fabulously misguided attempt to make a TV series out of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and the startlingly awful Star Wars Holiday Special. In the final segment of the show, we get in-depth in our discussion of the current Golden Age of television - which I've written about extensively in my Hope Lies on Television columns - and why we feel that the showrunner is closer to a true auteur than any film director currently working.

You can stream the episode using the link below, download an MP3 of it from the SRS podbean page, or subscribe to it on iTunes. Listen, rate and review, thanks.
